Hi. I’m Alison (that’s me on the left; on the right is The Knitting Librarian). I’m a hybrid librarian in Baltimore — the first and only Public Relations / Instruction Librarian at the Loyola/Notre Dame Library. I do all the usual things a reference librarian does — answer questions, teach people how to use the library’s resources, etc. But I’m also doing things like facilitating use of some of our great new spaces — an auditorium and a lovely atrium — for special events sponsored by the two colleges we serve. My professional interests mesh well with this position — I’m interested in using technology and social software to reach out to patrons, both to let them know what’s happening at the library, and to help them better understand how to use our research databases.
In my downtime, I knit and crochet, and am a voracious reader (mostly fiction and short stories). If your eyes are sharp, you might catch me in the crowd of fans at a Charm City Roller Girls bout or at Brewer’s Art on the first Friday evening of the month.

The hat is darling. I’ve copied the pattern page down for future-project reference. There are quite a few other FP’s in line already, so I don’t when I’ll get to it. Congrats on writing a pattern, too!
